On March 27, 2015. Ogrody, the most favorable shopping center in Elbląg, opened its doors. Ogrody now offers a 5 level shopping center experience with ample parking and the latest retail offer, serving over a million people in its catchment area.

Acteeum Central Europe supervised a 23 months construction process of one of the biggest and most complex retail redevelopments in Poland.
The one level scheme of 17 500 sqm with 55 shops was extended with a 5 level building of 40 000 sqm with 130 stores located on 2 levels with Multikino cinema and fitness on a 3rd level, located on the former car parking area. The retail offer was enriched by brands, attracted from TriCity such as H&M, New Yorker, TK Maxx, Carry, MediaMarkt, Go Sport, Sinsay, Mohito, Smyk, Douglas, KFC and Subway.

The project was executed in phases so that the clients were allowed to continue to shop at the old shopping center during the whole period of redevelopment. The loss of turnovers for the tenants was remarkably low. The reduced car parking area was linked to the shopping center by a covered communication path next to the construction site. Also the employee’ car parking facility at the back of the Carrefour Hypermarket was turned into a customer car parking facility and the Carrefour store was provided with the back entrance. All in all the food operator continued operating without one day break during the whole process of the redevelopment.

The redevelopment challenge of Ogrody was a second example of a successful cooperation between Acteeum Group and CBRE Global Investors. The first successful example was the Sarni Stok Shopping Center extension in Bielsko-Biała, executed in 2012.
