On Wednesday, 18 February, the official cornerstone laying ceremony took place for the construction of BIG Konstantynów retail park. The investment is being developed by Acteeum Group and BIG Poland in Konstantynów Łódzki. The project, which combines a retail and service offering previously unavailable in the region, together with modern architecture, functionality and the highest ESG standards, will become the primary shopping destination for residents of Konstantynów, the western part of Łódź and employees of the dynamically developing economic zone. The opening of the complex, which has already reached over 80% commercialization, is scheduled for October 2026.
The ceremony, held at the construction site of BIG Konstantynów at the intersection of Łódzka, Spółdzielcza and Osiedlowa streets, was attended by representatives of the investors and Mirbud as the General Contractor, as well as representatives of the regional authorities. The event was honored by the presence of Robert Jakubowski – Mayor of Konstantynów Łódzki. The attendance of distinguished guests highlighted the importance of the investment for the development of local infrastructure and the strengthening of the labor market, which will gain approximately 300 new jobs as a result of developing BIG Konstantynów.
– The cornerstone laying marks a milestone in the entire project delivery process. It confirms not only the advanced stage of physical work on site, but also the remarkable commercial success of the development. Three quarters before opening, more than 80% of the retail space has already been leased, which demonstrates that the local market requires such a modern and comprehensive retail park format. Importantly, thanks to BIG Konstantynów, the surrounding region will gain not only an excellently connected shopping center with an attractive and diversified offer, but also hundreds of new jobs.
– says Paweł Dolański, Project Director at Acteeum Central Europe.
BIG Konstantynów will be a regional shopping center forming part of a retail complex with a total GLA of approximately 21,000 sqm. The complex will include a BIG-branded retail park with an area of approximately 13,500 sqm GLA, comprising around 30 stores of the most anticipated brands in the area. The complex will also include the existing Kaufland hypermarket with an area of approximately 4,500 sqm and a Bricomarché store of approximately 3,200 sqm.
BIG Konstantynów will offer customers a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant, as well as a spacious parking area for over 500 vehicles. In addition, the investment includes convenient transport solutions ensuring easy access to the facility both from Konstantynów and Łódź, as well as various infrastructure solutions addressing sustainable development requirements, including electric vehicle charging stations.
The tenant mix at BIG Konstantynów will include fashion, home furnishing, sports, consumer electronics, media and drugstore brands. A food and beverage and service offer will also be available, providing a comprehensive response to customer needs. The development will ultimately also feature the largest and most modern fitness club in the area, as well as a children’s play center.
The BIG Konstantynów shopping center will enhance its surroundings not only through its retail offer, but also through modern, functional and user-friendly architecture, improved connectivity and upgrades to the surrounding infrastructure.
In addition to its attractive retail offer, BIG Konstantynów will naturally respond to the needs of residents thanks to its excellent location and transport connections with Konstantynów and Łódź, aligning with the daily travel patterns of residents of Konstantynów and the surrounding areas, particularly the nearby Retkinia district. Moreover, the facility will respond effectively to the shopping needs associated with the dynamically developing nearby economic zone.
The opening of the facility is scheduled for October 2026
